Subletting

We understand that life can change quickly and are happy to allow our residents to sublet their apartments should they need to. Unfortunately, the process can be extremely time consuming. To help you get started on your search, here are a number of affordable or free listing opportunities in the Madison area:

Once you find a sublettor, you'll need to turn in an application form for the sublettor and a sub-lease addendum form, along with the one-time administrative processing fee of $105.

Rent payments can continue to be paid by you or you can choose to have the sublettor pay us directly. Timely payment and subsequent late fees will remain your responsibility throughout the original lease term. By law, your original security deposit must also be held. However, it is within your legal rights to request a security deposit from your sublettor and, as we don't provide interim property inspections, you may wish to do so. We can provide you with an inspection sheet to use for your records and will also keep a copy of it in your file.
