< Back to Mansion HillHistory of the building: This impressive Prairie Style stucco and brick house was built in 1907 for Addie and Frank M. Wootton. Mr. Wootton was an attorney and later became one of Madison's first automobile dealers. From 1914 Daniel and Katie Mead moved into the home. Mr. Mead was a UW professor of engineering and a world-famous designer of dams and hydroelectric power plants.
